Lateral
Engineering began operation in early 1999, and now operates from Engineering
House
in North Melbourne. The
two principles are
degree qualified engineers and each have over 20 years
experience.
Tim
Adam BE Mech
(Hons),
CPEng
After
graduating with honours in Mechanical Engineering from the University
of Melbourne in 1987, Tim worked for 10 years as an engineering
consultant undertaking machinery trouble-shooting and re-design
activities throughout all states of Australia, plus PNG.
Tim was
involved in field measurements using multi-channel techniques based
around vibration and strain gauge signals. His expertise in
sophisticated theoretical methods such as modal-, finite element-,
stress- and fatigue analysis, was used in conjunction with the field
data to solve complex machinery based problems.
For the last
10 years these structured problem solving and engineering skills have
been extended and applied beyond the machine to consider the
improvements to plant-wide systems and the products being manufactured.
Tim’s areas of expertise:
> Production capability and throughput
analysis
> Fundamental engineering analysis
> Structured problem solving
> Machinery investigations
> Conceptual design of plant and product
> Machinery and product detail design
> Finite Element Modelling
& Simulation
> Field measurements & testing
Tim's
specialist skills can be used
to design practical, appropriate, engineered solutions to your
real-world problems.
